The University of Kentucky Law School, with Memorial Hall, site of the closing keynote, in the background.This two-day symposium will provide school administrators and attorneys with the knowledge needed to make legally sound decisions while reducing liability, litigation, and other potential legal missteps. This year's symposium will be held at the University of Kentucky Law School.
From personnel matters to technology use, legal experts from Kentucky and beyond will cover the spectrum of school law topics as they apply to educators’ daily operations.
General sessions will cover topics including: CyberEthics, the Remaining Challenges of KERA, and What You Need to Know in 2012 on Kentucky Law.
Additionally, concurrent education sessions will cover topics as diverse as school policy writing, student newspapers, employee behavior, school safety assessments, the role of principals in teaching the law to their staff, and many others.
Sessions will provide a mixture of practical examples and useful advice on dealing with emerging legal issues, making it useful to attorneys and educators alike as they attempt to operate within the boundaries of the U.S. Constitution, federal and state laws, and school district policy.
